Unicorn Training Returns for Its 10th Anniversary!

Always nice to see an older pony game get a little love after all of this time! Unicorn Training is back on the scene, freed from Digital Purgatory after having been removed from the app store a few years back. There's been plenty of little tweaks and quality of life improvements made for this re-release, which you can read more about in the press release below the break!

MareQuest

What exactly is "MareQuest"? First and foremost, you play as a mare. But don't get stuck on the idea of being a mare: you are also a pony, with cool abilities you can unlock as you progress through the game. You live in a land filled with other mares. Each mare has their own randomly generated personality, dialogue and style. The goal of the game is to help your mare friends become the best mares they can be. You can customize your mare to be as unique as you want, with options including wearing socks or not, and wearing a hat or not.
As you progress through the game, you will unlock more abilities, also known as "mare perks". There are over 9 mare perks in the game, including ones like "fly faster" and "make poofy clouds". Some abilities are more useful than others, but each will help you towards your quest of befriending mares, while also helping you push back the Shadow Horses. Will you be able to stop this evil, or will you instead show off your sick dance moves at the Poni Poni Club? The choice is yours!
Play the game here!
The game is now also available on Steam

My Little Pony: Harmony Eclipsed - Game Complete!

My Little Pony: Harmony Eclipsed is a highly enjoyable RPG that puts you in the horseshoes of Princess Luna, along with our other favorite colorful horse heroes, on a quest to rid Equestria of an ever-growing dark magic threat. It's a ton of fun, and there's a lot of content here, though it may be challenging at times (most likely because I'm bad at games!) I'm around three hours into the game right now, and there's still so much to do!
If this seems like something you'd be interested in, visit the MLP Forums thread for additional information about the game and upcoming updates. We won't be linking to a static build again like we did in our previous article (whoops!), just in case the game changes again.

My Little Pony: Harmony Eclipsed

Well look at that, we're actually posting something in a timely manner!
It looks like we've got a new RPG on the scene! My Little Pony: Harmony Eclipsed is an incredibly fun Final Fantasy-esque game that puts you in the regal horseshoes of Princess Luna (and featuring our other familiar pastel horse protagonists, of course!) on a quest to rid Equestria of a ever-growing dark magic threat, taking place sometime after the end of Season 3. While there's occasional bits of placeholder dialogue or assets as the game is still unfinished, overall there's a surprising amount of game here for something only getting more widespread public attention now, and I still have a decent chunk of game left to go through after clocking roughly two hours with it!
If this sounds like something up your alley, check out the game's thread on MLP Forums linked above for more information and future updates. We've also pasted the relevant information and the download link for this release below the break if that's more your speed!

Let's Play - Fallout Equestria: Remains 0.7

After almost a year of development, Fallout Equestria: Remains v0.7 is finally out! I personally think this is, hooves down, THE most polished game in all of brony gaming history, and I can't imagine how epic it would be when it is finally finished.

The game is based on the Fallout Equestria canon universe, but doesn't follow any particular story, and is about getting Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, and explore the world and completing quests and helping ponies.

By the way, I'm KopaLeo, aka Cosmia Nebula, and I'm a new contributor to this blog! My specialty is writing "let's play", and expect those posts once or twice a month!

My Silent Ville

Whoa, someone actually finished a game based on Silent Ponyville! This is a short horror game and adaptation of SamRose's Silent Ponyville! The original link no longer exists, but you can still download the game here!

"Pinkie Pie has been plagued by ceaseless nightmares. Her friend Twilight has been doing her best to console her, but the horrific dreams persist. One night, Twilight claims she has found an answer to Pinkie’s problem; an old spell called the Mind Delve. Nobody knows the exact effects of the spell, but it has been proven to cure ponies of psychological trauma. Unable to bear living with the nightmares any longer, Pinkie consents to having the spell cast on her. With a flash of white, her surroundings vanish. When she comes to, she finds herself in a twisted version of her home filled with fog and monsters…"

Day Dreaming Derpy Demo v0.4 - The Scootaloo Update

We're once again a little slow on the draw (and a little slower than usual at that, admittedly), but that certainly does not and will not impede our enjoyment of posting a new Day Dreaming Derpy update! Keeping things short this time, the developer promises two new dreams to play around in, and as the title suggests, the inclusion of Scootaloo as a playable character, which also means that all three of the Cutie Mark Crusaders are now playable! They also note that this is likely to be the last major update before the release of the full game, as that's predicted to be just around the corner!
Download the latest update at the source above, or check back here later when we're able to update our downloadable mirror of the game. Sweet dreams, sleepy horses!

Legends of Equestria Open Access Release - Date & Trailer

Well, would you look at that! After a long, long time in development, the Legends of Equestria team appears to finally be ready to fully open the game up to the public! With the drop of what they call the "Open Access Release" on August 19th, 2017, the game will (as the name suggests) be available to anyone and everyone at any time, finally putting those blink-and-you'll-miss-it limited access periods to rest. Check out the trailer for the release above, as well as the more detailed announcement post on their forum for more information!
Oh, and please note that this is not the "final" version/release of the game; the team intends to continue adding to the game over time, and will still be actively in-development!

Daring Do: Origins Project Looking for Help

Daring Do: Origins is a 3D action-adventure game, set before the events of Nightmare Moon's escape and although little has been shown thus far, the game is quite ambitious. The game is said to feature frenetic platform action, stealth functions, RPG elements and multiple playable characters. However, the project currently is a one-man team, and is looking for help make this game a reality.

Day Dreaming Derpy Applebloom Update - Demo v0.3

Here we are again. Another update for the beautiful RPG Adventure, Day Dreaming Derpy has just been released. This time around we have reached version 0.3 with the Applebloom update.
It has been just about three months since the last update, the Sweetie Belle update, already extending this gorgeous demo with new characters, dreams, town areas, etc. A lot of water has run under the bridge and this new version is with even more content, stores, costumes, dreams, areas and so on, as well as providing a few bug fixes, like balancing the beatbox skill I recall being terribly overpowered. All the details are provided in the changelog provided below, as well as downloadables.

Day Dreaming Derpy Sweetie Belle Update - Demo v0.2

An update had recently been released for the charming JRPG affair, Day Dreaming Derpy.
This gorgious game received it's big 'Sweetie Belle update' just a few days ago, introducing a new dream area, a new awake area, new dreams, new uniforms, new followers, one of which you can probably guess from the title of the update, and a whole array of fixes.
What can I say without reiterating points in our previous post on the game?
This really is one of the biggest surprises we've had here for a while, A short sweet demo of a JRPG featuring everypony's favourite muffin enthusiast, exploring the dreams of her fellow ponies. Absolutely beautiful artwork, with only insignificant clashing styles. You wouldn't guess that it is a mere RPG Maker game just from looking at it, really breaking the cookie cutter style you usually see in those easy-to-use engines. Very approachable and simple combat and gameplay, unlike what you would expect when someone brings up JRPG's. Feels very stripped down, in comparison to your Final Fantasies, but never really lacking, unless you're going in expecting another overly complex grand RPG experience.
It is small, it is cute, it feels familiar and emotional and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone to give it a go. It puts a smile on your face, nothing less.

Battle Gem Ponies - Steam Greenlight Update

February has certainly been news-filled, hasn't it? We've got a press release here from the creator of Battle Gem Ponies regarding the most recent update, and even includes some news about the legal side of things that isn't terrifically disappointing! How rare is that? Read on below!
This month's Battle Gem Ponies update is finally here! The notable changes here are character redesigns, a toggle-friendly virtual D-Pad, and bug fixes for the Steam Greenlight release in January. Feedback was taken into account and legal issues have been looked into. A Valve employee even reached out to discuss the issues with the last build and the legal steps necessary to continue.
The game is now sufficiently distinguishable from the things that inspired it. It feels like a mashup of MLP & Pokemon, but it has it's own chibi-pixel style now and none of the characters are confusingly similar to fanon or canon ones from either series. Now it's about as similar to its inspirations as Crash Team Racing is to Mario Kart and Oceanhorn is to Zelda.
Battle Gem Ponies is its own IP that won't be subject to a Cease & Desist order, and will continue to develop in a way that mitigates such worries. All feedback is reviewed and taken into consideration for each monthly update. We want this to be the best game it can be. To extend the pony aesthetic and themes of cute things doing cool things outside of the show that inspired so many to pursue creative careers.
Steam Greenlight is going away soon, so this is likely to be the last push to get the game on that platform if people want it there. So if you like the direction this game is taking, be sure to give it an upvote on Steam!
Oh, and here's two additional screenshots, by the way! I figured it looked slightly ~nicer~ to include 'em in link form rather than just dumping them here at the end, haha!
