Legends of Equestria Open Access Release - Date & Trailer

Well, would you look at that! After a long, long time in development, the Legends of Equestria team appears to finally be ready to fully open the game up to the public! With the drop of what they call the "Open Access Release" on August 19th, 2017, the game will (as the name suggests) be available to anyone and everyone at any time, finally putting those blink-and-you'll-miss-it limited access periods to rest. Check out the trailer for the release above, as well as the more detailed announcement post on their forum for more information!
Oh, and please note that this is not the "final" version/release of the game; the team intends to continue adding to the game over time, and will still be actively in-development!

Super Lesbian Horse RPG is Released

Super Lesbian Horse RPG

Yes, it's finally here (and quite late as well, missing its original release date by a whopping 6 months). Quite likely the pony fandom's strangest RPG as of yet, Super Lesbian Horse RPG was created in the spare time of a fairly generic Tumblr user, the type who gets legitimately angry when folks assume his "SFW" game contains pornography based off of the title. Some of the fairly recent additions have been somewhat controversial, sure, but is the rest of the game alright?

...You'll have to find out in the morning, since it's past midnight over here and I'm going to bed.

A Release Date for Super Lesbian Horse RPG

Apparently Super Lesbian Horse RPG is coming out on Christmas Day (Wednesday, in case you haven't checked your calendars yet). Since I just got from watching The Desolation of Smaug and am rather tired, let's just say that words cannot fully describe my excitement so I can get this over with and listen to the Electric Light Orchestra, maybe see if a friend of mine is online at this hour.

Good night!

A Foal's Errand

A Foal's Errand Announcement

After a hiatus of decent length, Filly Gamez has proclaimed that they are "rising from the ashes" and are releasing a brand-new game at BronyCon, titled A Foal's Errand. Unsurprisingly, it is a visual novel, and from what little I've seen I must say that it doesn't look half-bad. Hopefully the team will have learned from the mistakes they made in Welcome to Ponyville, although I'm still a little worried that it'll still end up being an unnecessarily massive download like the original. They also mentioned that it'll feature "a little horror", which should be at least somewhat interesting (as long as they handle it better than they did in WtP).

Anyhow, below the break you can find a screenshot of the game, a vector of Sethisto throwing up, and a sneak peak for a very special surprise...

Starlight Studios: Project Cygnus

The team behind MLP:Online, now Starlight Studios, game have been working hard since December on Project Cygnus. The game itself, and its development, has been kept secret and shrouded in mystery, but not anymore! We are pleased to announce that at BronyCon 2013, you'll be able to play the demo at their table in the games room. Find out the secret behind the lemons between Aug 2nd - Aug 4th or lose your chance, for it will not be released online.

Be sure to follow @NebularFusion on Twitter for announcements regarding Project Cygnus. Also, you should totally check out their awesome new website at http://www.starlightstudios.org/.

Flankbook Relaunched, BronyNet Updated

Flankbook and BronyNet

Since almost everypony likes social networking sites it was a given that the talented Brony fandom would produce some of their own, and indeed it has no shortage of them. If I recall correctly Flankbook was one of the original websites created for this purpose, although after a couple months it was shut down for various reasons. In the meantime several other fairly prominent websites have arisen such as the RainbowDash NetworkBronyNetBronySquare and Cloudsdale (the latter of which is more of an instant messaging client and also features mobile apps), but Flankbook's developers talked of remaking their website and launching it again for the world to use. Their minimalistic, Boostrap-based website entered open beta today, with more features on the way shortly.

On a related note, rival website BronyNet has recently released a massive update to their custom NewsTime software, which means that it now features realtime updating, profile headers and other fancy stuff like that. It currently offers a lot more than Flankbook and has a less-cluttered interface than BronySquare, but since the former is still in open beta things could change quickly. We also have a BronyNet page at http://bronynet.com/main.php#!/profile-3175, in case you are interested in following us over there for site updates and whatnot.

Updated Rise of the Clockwork Stallions Demo

Rise of the Clockwork Stallions
Unfortunately most large fangame projects end up going nowhere or receive cease & desist notifications, but Darkera Studios has shown no signs of slowing down in the development of their second project, Rise of the Clockwork Stallions. Their October demo was somewhat out of date, so they decided to release an updated demo with more characters and levels. The game also uses less RAM than it did before, so it should run better for those of us who are still using older computers.

And before you ask, the team is planning on a Mac release at some point, although it would require a fair amount of reprogramming and would probably be uploaded a fair time after the official release at BUCK.

My Little Game Jam Date Announcement + Theme Voting!

Earlier this month we posted about about this upcoming event called My Little Game Jam, a 2 day game-creation competition. Back then we had no idea as to when this was taking place, but now with the release of the team's new, sexier website website we can now confirm that the event will be taking place on October 5th at 23:59 UTC. Theme voting is also up, so if you want to help decide what the games must be about then you can do so over at http://www.mylittlegamejam.com/themes/. You can also suggest new themes if you'd like, but try and not go overboard like you guys did with that silly Dub the Dew contest. After all, who would want to play (or make!) a My Little Pony fangame about Fred Durst Society of the Humanities and Arts, eh?

And no, I am not wishing luck to the hopeful contestants, as I trust that they won't need luck. Our fandom has some very talented developers, you know!

Welcome to Ponyville Act 1 Released!

Welcome to Ponyville

Back in March a visual novel-type game was announced named Welcome to Ponyville, and for some reason people got really excited about it. Most would expect that the sudden explosion in popularity had something to do with that desire many Bronies have to visit Equestria, but eventually it turned out that most of you sickos just wanted to get your hands on the romance portion of the game and ship yourselves with Lyra Heartstrings. To be honest I wish that they had downplayed the romance portion of the game, but either way Welcome to Ponyville should be a rather interesting game.

As this post's title should have indicated to you the first act of Welcome to Ponyville was released earlier this morning. The 1.14 gigabyte download (which they foolishly refused to compress) is enormous for what essentially amounts to a demo for a visual novel, although from the looks of it most of the space is taken up by audio files. We'll give you a review of the game and guides to running the game in Wine once we have finished downloading and playing it, but hopefully Act 1 is worth the 1.14GBs of hard drive space that it has taken away from me.

Also, for downloads we recommend that you use the torrent over at http://kat.ph/welcome-to-ponyville-act-1-t6676897.html for faster downloads. If you can then we would really appreciate it if you seed the torrent after downloading; after all nopony wants this torrent to be dead by the end of this day, right?

MLP: Online Gearing up for Bronycon Release

MLP: Online
The creators of MLP: Online, a very anticipated project that's been in the works for over a year, are working in overdrive to get MLP: Online Single Player Episode 1 ready by it's release at this summer's BronyCon, on June 30th, a little over 9 days from now. You can find a countdown clock on their website.

It's important to note that this is the Single Player version being released, which hopefully will provide a strong focus on story and combat. The Multiplayer version is to be released later, which will add a social aspect absent from any current MLP fangames. You can watch a dated developer snapshot video and an even more dated, but still awesome visualization of the project progression after the break...

My Little Investigations Trailer + Demo Release Date!

MLPOnline Release Date!

Apparently the developers of MLPOnline just announced the release date for the single player version of their MMO (???) a couple days ago, and it somehow flew under everypony's radars. So Xtux, you might be asking, when ARE they releasing it? Well, they said that it'd be at the summer BroNYCon, and that convention runs from June 30th to July 1st, so it'll be sometime in between that timeframe. Also, they stated that even if they do finish the game before, they'll still wait until the convention starts to release it. Sucks for you, har har.

If you want to view their original post on the subject, see http://www.mlponline.net/2012/developer-update-release-date.
