H-SWilliams' Animated Pony Creator

I'm not entirely sure what's up with the recent influx of pony creators, but I'm not complaining! This time around, we've got one that's centered around creating a pony that dances, and appropriately enough allows you to save your 100% Certified Original Prancing Machines as gifs, for use in whatever possible situation these kinds of images would apply. There's a decent selection of mane, tail and eye styles (though I still had trouble recreating my own pastel horse), though users should beware the occasional display bug with the color selectors and other inputs.

ManeQuest's "Pony Dream Maker"

We're just the tiniest bit late in getting to this one (how shocking), but hey, we got there! Looks like the developers behind the game ManeQuest have given the fandom yet another neat little colorful horse creator, this time with a nice looking (those eyes are a bit creepy though, tbh) pixel art style that's just a tad more...er, "artsy-looking," I suppose, than the similar pixel-style creator for Pony Town.
While I haven't had the time to dive into this one personally, it appears that from the looks of the ponies posted by folks in the comments on the game's DA page and elsewhere, this'd be the creator to go with if you felt the need to create your own Personal Pixel Poner™!
6/20/17: So I've finally had a little bit of time to check this out for myself, and I figured I'd edit in a more developed opinion (I'm not a fan of posting things before I've had a chance to test them out). It's not bad, but it is a little lackluster considering there's no actual game attached to it yet. Additionally, I think I'm definitely more partial towards Pony Town's creator insofar as comparisons go, mostly because Pony Town offers more customization options (which is handy if you're aiming to recreate your Donut Steels from tip to toe), plus that game's ponies are just generally cuter, haha.

Pony Comic Generator

So here's a fun little something to break up this unfortunate little news drought we've got going on here! GingerFoxy brings us this wonderful random pony comic generator, inspired by the Cyanide and Happiness version, letting you create all sorts of fun, wacky scenarios mainly featuring Rarity and Pinkie Pie, but also a nice host of others! Do feel free to share what you manage to come up with in the comments, and be careful, this one's a little addictive, haha!

Equestria Jukebox's Alpha is Released

Screenshot of the Equestria Jukebox website.

In January I wrote about Equestria Jukebox, the unusual pony creation utility/chat app successor to the Pony Avatar Creator, and its alpha client came out on this Monday. It looks pretty neat so far, although there's a distinct lack of manes and accessories for users to pick from and I was unable to save my abominations to the server, leading me to believe that they have gained sentience and are actively discriminating against ugly original characters. Do note that the userbase is fairly small at the moment, so if you do make a chat group it'll probably take quite a while to grow (unless the service undergoes a sudden growth in popularity).

There's always Lunasync as an alternative, of course, although nobody seems to use it ;~;

Equestria Jukebox

Equestria Jukebox >>>

Despite the infamous Pony Creator utility being the most commonly-used of, well, pony creators, there are still a fair amount of people who prefer the Pony Avatar Creator demo for various reasons (even if its pony model looks a bit off, and it doesn't have a really wide variety of manes or accessories). The creator could have kept it in its current state and simply added more stuff, but it seems he has other plans for it and is in the process of transforming it into a full-fledged web service called Equestria Jukebox, with chat rooms and whatnot.

Will this take off? We'll see once the open alpha comes out, but in the meantime you can find an exclusive sneak peak of the service below the break.

Ponyvania Intro

So it seems that Ponyvania game we posted a while back also has a pretty sweet animated intro, probably the best we'll ever see in a fangame. Shame it'll probably add a lot to the game's filesize and hurt those of us with slower internet connections, so if I were the developers I'd probably release a version of the game with the intro stripped out. Still, I've seen far worse examples of pointless filesize inflation in a particular game I reviewed on this site a while back...you probably know of what I speak.

And yes, I'm still working on that Moonstuck part 2 review, so be patient. Reviews take time, especially when you possibly have two of them to write in one day.

Ponyvania Demo

Ponyvania

Back in 2012 some Texans decided that the My Little Pony fandom needed a Castlevania-type game and began to create one themselves in Game Maker, with the splendidly original title "Ponyvania". The project seemed to progress smoothly, with the latest demo being released in July '13, but I remained entirely unaware of Ponyvania until some Anon posted about it on /mlp/ last Saturday, bemoaning the overall lack of attention that it has seen (aside from an Equestria Daily post about a pre-demo trailer). The Anon also mentioned Legacy of the Pony, which I shall hopefully cover later now that I have a working dual-boot setup, but in the meantime I shall focus on this sadly neglected fangame.

My thoughts on the project can be found below the break, as usual.

Flash: Pony Creator v3 / Square Ponies / Taking Wing

If you're like me and school has just kicked into gear again, you might not have time for games which require a serious time investment. But there's always time for flash games.

Updates to generalzoi's (in)famous pony creator, pixelated madness, and more after the break!

Pon-E3 Promo Video!

Yes folks, we just went though the trouble of putting together another of those trailers just to reveal who is attending Pon-E3. Why didn't we just put it in text like the other announcements? Because videos have been scientifically proven by totally reliable sources to be 20% cooler then plain text when used for announcements, that's why! And if you disagree with us, you can take it up with my cat (he's quite smart you know).

Anyhow, the event will start at 6:00am, PST on July 13, and end at 6:00pm, PST on the 14th. The entire thing will take place online and it won't cost you a cent to drop in. And in case you want a detailed schedule of the event you can find it at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TlIHQqEOlpF_y5LGVekI8LizpRcU5Gq3NMgwnV8WcAE/edit?pli=1.

See you there!

Pony Avatar Creator

Pony Avatar Creator

When it comes to designing an original character non-artistic Bronies often turn to tools such as the (in)famous Pony Creator. While those usually had tons of customizable attributes their output was somewhat unsatisfactory,  giving each character an extremely generic pose that was easily recognizable and often the subject of mockery from those who actually took the time to draw their OCs. However a new pony designer tool has turned up, with the main purpose of creating web avatars, and unlike most it features animation and a somewhat less generic pose.

Does the Pony Avatar Creator manage to break the mould, or is it just another crappy pony creator? For our full opinion on the game, continue reading after the break.

Mane 6 at the Canterlot Gardens Convention!

Mane 6, the developers of MLP: Fighting is Magic, are have announced that they are attending a new convention titled the Canterlot Gardens, which takes place from September 28-30, 2012 in Strongsville, Ohio. So far, only Nappy and Leeden have been stated to be attending the convention, although apparently there are other, unannounced members that will be attending. We still have no idea what they're showcasing since September is a long ways away, although thankfully we have Bronycon and the Everfree conventions along the way. So if you live nearby (or have plenty of cash on your hands), Mane 6's presence alone should make the Canterlot Gardens worth attending, even though I'm sure it'd already be a great convention without them. So if you're interested, go on and check out the Canterlot Garden's website at http://www.canterlotgardens.com/, and when September comes around I would highly consider attending if I were you.

MLP:FiM - Pony Creator Finished

MLP: FiM - Pony Creator is an advanced Pony creator programed in flash by generalzoi.

This game has no goal, allowing you to fully customize a pony of your own. Unlike other Pony creators, this one is extremely extensive! You can choose from a wide scale of different sizes and shapes for your pony, randing from filly to Slenderpony height. The colors for your pony's mane, coat, and tail are all full color scale. There are a bunch of different head shapes as well, allowing you to create either a male or a female pony. A full selection of Eyes, Expressions, mouthes, manes and tales, a cutie mark creator, custom poses, and accessories really makes this game stand out.

MLP Generator Version 2.0

(because the first link only works for a few people)

MLP Generator is a simple Pony Creator, made in flash by Shadarack Tailroam.

The game has no goal, but it allows you to customize a pony of your own, with 21 different mane and hair styles, your own custom cutie mark, a full color spectrum for mane, hair, and coat, and eye color. You can even choose between male and female, and being an earth pony, pegasus, unicorn, or alicorn.

My Little Pony Dress Up

My Little Pony Dress Up (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (animal maker)) is a simple dress up game, created by OLa over on Doll Divine.

The game itself has no goal or objective, pressing the ten different buttons lined up on both sides of the screen will result in the pony in the center changing. There are ten of each outfit and pony part, including colors and eye types, though the accessories get a little confusing.

Custom Pony Game

The Custom Pony game isn't really an actual game, just a simple create your own pony tool  using images ripped directly from the Hub's pony flash game.

The game is very easy to use, Pressing the arrows will scroll through the many different features of the pony you are creating, the R resets the feature to it's default, and the ? sets it to a random feature. You can also change the pony's pose between one of many, each pose is fully animated. The picture of the camera on the top right of the screen, when clicked, freezes the pony in place, allowing you to take a smooth and clear screenshot. The R at the top right of the screen sets every feature to something random, creating a fully random pony.

The idea behind the game is practical and simple, but there are a few things that are holding it back. The colors are the major issue, there is a very small range of bright colors you can make your pony, and the other big problem is that it only supports female ponies, which is understandable.
