Thank you for the submission(s)!

We asked you to show us how you live ponies and...
one submission is enough!
As you may remember, two weeks ago, we tried something new by asking you to show us your desktops and computers for a reader-submitted compilation post. The deadline was supposed to be last week, but we decided to extend it another week (now, I realize, without announcement!) to let more submissions build up.
Unfortunately, we remained with the sole submission from the first few days. But that is enough for me because I think it is AWESOME. Thanks, Erick!
Game development is hard, so we thought this would be a nice way to open the door up for everyone to be able to submit something with a bit of their soul and personal touch in it, without the time commitment of creating a game.
However, this doesn't mean the door has closed, if you get what I mean ^c^. I mean, I won't get upset if you... send your submission for this regardless.

Send us your ponified desktops!

Where else do we keep our precious pony games except on the desktop? If our games are ponified, then why not our desktops? Why not our computers or laptops? Why not our entire home? WHY NOT THE WHOLE WORLD?
We want the answer to that question! Send us your ponified desktops, laptops, setups, etc!
Show us how you live ponies! Are pixel ponies running amok on your desktop? Send it! Fifty pony widgets taking up half of your system resources? Send it! Have you made your own custom pony themes? Send them! Is your laptop covered to the brim with pony stickers? Send it!
We will compile all the awesome ponified setups and desktops we see next week! If you don't have a desktop full of ponies, you still have plenty of time to make it to your liking! There are plenty of online communities where you can find great skins (but please don't run any executable file willy-nilly) or get help to make your own.

Ponu News for iOS

Unfortunately our mobile site still sucks, which is bad news for those 4% of our readers who visit Equestria Gaming with their iOS devices. Android users already had a better way of viewing the site in the form of Ponu News, a little news app that has just recently found its way onto the iPhone (yes, it should also work on your iPads and iPod Touches). Eventually we would like to rewrite our site's interface to be more mobile-friendly, of course, but in the meantime Ponu News should serve all of you mobile users just fine.

In the meantime, Windows Phone users continue to be left out, but they're quite the minority here. As in, there are more people visiting from their PlayStation 3s and BSD machines than folks with Windows Phones.

Ponu News

A screenshot of the Ponu News application.

No, we don't have an Android app yet, but some guy named Tom Jin has made an app titled Ponu News that compiles news and fanworks from around the ponynet and packages it all inside their convenient app. In a recent update they added Equestria Gaming to their Entertainment category, so if you want to read our stuff on the go you can do by picking up their app over at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hummingtap.ponu. They also have support for other fansites like DerpyHooves News and Fimfiction, in case you're interested.

As for you iOS and Windows Phone users...you'll still be stuck with the lousy mobile version of our site. Sorry!

MLP Windows Phone 7 Portal UPDATE

My Little Pony Windows Phone 7 Portal (Download)

That My Little Pony Windows Phone 7 Portal (my, what a long name for an app!) that we posted a while back just received an update not long ago, and it added some rather useful features that I'm sure all you Windows Phone 7 users will love.

The new additions to the app are:
FiMFiction.net- EverFree Radio
- Celestia Radio
- Bronyville Podcast
- In-App-Browser: Share Function, Additional Navigation for PonySquare/Cloudsdale, Exit Confirmation
- Facebook
- "Yay Button" and instant "Eeyup"

Pretty neat, eh? In case you own one of these fancy phones and haven't downloaded this app yet, now might be a good time.

MLP Windows Phone 7 Portal

My Little Pony Windows Phone 7 Portal (Download)

A while ago this bloke named ReignOfComputer offered to include Equestria Gaming on an app for Windows Phone 7. He claimed that the app would act as a central pony hub for all WP7 users, making life easier for the lot of 'em and giving him some recognition among the fanbase in the process. Well now that the app is available for public use, does it live up to his claims? We have no idea, as we have no way to test it at the moment, but if you have a Windows Phone 7 then you can give it a spin. Just follow the link above and follow any instructions that you might get, mkay?

Oh, right. There's also a press release after the break, and if you like that kind of stuff...well, it's there in case you want it. It gives a more detailed summary as to what the app actually is, and what you'll find within it.

New Cloudsdale Revision

Cloudsdale
Our partners over at Cloudsdale, an up-and coming brony social network, recently released a major revision to their site, which has now left beta and is open for everybody to use. From what I've experienced of it, Cloudsdale is a very unique network, quite different from sites like Facebook or Twitter. It's user base is growing steadily, and it's definitely worth checking out. Have some copypasta after the break.

Presenting Equestria Gaming's Online Arcade!

At Equestria Gaming we pride ourselves on being the #1 source for My Little Pony fangames (at least, we hope so!). But as you might have noticed, lately we've slowed down somewhat (not in speed, we're highly optimized when it comes to speed and SEO). Was the current generation of authors going the way of Strawberry Spice? Nope! We've just been preparing something really awesome that we hope you all enjoy.

Introducting the Equestria Gaming Arcade, a place where you can access all of your favourite online MLP fangames in one easy website, with even more on the way! We have classics such as Story of the Blanks, Super Filly Adventure, along with enjoyable minigames like Catch the Scootaloos, Derpy Hooves sweet dreams, and the ultimate cure for boredom, Waiting is Magic! Pretty much any browser-based game is supported, so if you have any Adobe Flash, HTML5, Javascript or Unity3D games then feel free to submit them to us.

Anyhow, the arcade is located at http://arcade.equestriagaming.net/, and currently features 8 games (more are in the pipeline!). The features are not completely final yet either, we plan on adding a ratings system in the near future and maybe some extra eyecandy for those with modren browsers. Enjoy!

Two Bronies Kickstarting a Video Game Animation Tool

Spriter (Kickstarter)

So John, you may be asking, why are you posting an animation tool on this website? No, we have not suddenly become a generic indie gaming blog, but this is something we thought that our indie developer readers might find interesting. You see, there is this amazing animation tool under development (public beta version available) called Spriter, and if you're not using/can't afford Flash and have a limited budget this tool might just fit the bill, and from the looks of it at least one of the developers is a Brony! The tool is highly optimized and has plugins under development for various engines, so you can make your game look as good as possible while using far less memory then traditional methods of video game animation.

Now, if you go to their Kickstarter page that I above they give a far better explanation of how it works then I ever could, and you can support their project by backing it, although they already have a lot of donations. You can also visit the developer's website at http://www.brashmonkey.com/index.htm, in case you're interested in their own video game project that they're working on. At the moment Spriter is Windows-only, although they plan on adding Mac (and eventually Linux) support sometime past the release of 1.0.
