EQG Game Catchup Post (LITE) - Mostly Racing Edition

We have three new games and projects to share with you this week, featuring racing, racing, and Spike.

Before we begin though and, for those who are curious, we still have a big backlog of games to cover, as well as a handful of horror/creepy titles that we'll save for Halloween. We also have a ton of FNF mods that we were hoping to merge into a massive compilation post when the game's new update came out, (but the update was not released on the date given by the FNF developers, and it's already been months with no word on when that's coming out) but we may have to publish the post early!

We try to keep on top of all the games, but sometimes a project might slip through the cracks. If you've got a project you're working on, please feel free to reach out to us!
With that out of the way, let's get started!

MLP G5 LEAKED

I can't believe Hasbro still has such massive leaks slipping through after all these years; you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, but alas, here we are
MLP G5 LEAKED is the epic adventure of Sunny and her best friend, Izzy Moonbow that was leaked on Youtube by a user named SingleHoof. The game is a highly detailed and accurate simulation of a pony character living in the town of "Maretime Bay." The user has the ability to acquire stuff and things, travel to other areas (mark my words, game developer: I WILL climb those stairs),  interact with other characters, and learn the basics of friendship.
Hurry up and try the game out for yourself  --->HERE<--- before it gets taken down!
I'm also offering a $20 reward to anyone who can go up/glitch up to the town (fʸᵃʸ u game dev)

Of Platforms and Blog Posts - A Fansite Fangame Flashback

Foreword In order to inject new blood into the site and get some activity going, here we have our first new writer, providing a retrospective look at a couple of EqD themed games of the past. Give a warm welcome to Magitronique, as he introduces himself briefly below. How long is he gonna stick around? How often is he gonna write? I'm leaving that completely down to him, while I am assuming the role of editor-in-chief in this context. So with all that said and done, I'm getting back to writing content myself. Despite the niche topic, enjoy the article below!-Lex Rudera
(I'll try to keep this brief since this article's already disgustingly long, but hello to Equestria Gaming and whoever's reading! I'm Magitronique, and I'll be around every now and then to talk at usually extreme and exorbitant lengths about horsegames. Happy reading, and thanks to those who are somehow still around after the lengthy, silent transition period we've had!)
In the four years at this point that I’ve happily been a part of this colorful horse cult we call a fandom, I, like many, have partaken in countless amounts of fan media of almost every single stripe. I’ve got loads of images, stories, music and a bunch of other little digital pony knick-knacks stored across an untold number of places, and like many I’m finding and collecting more every day. I suppose sacrificing loads of precious storage space is but one part of the price we pay for our (or my, at least) obsession! So it goes!
Some time ago, a neat little Cookie Clicker clone made it's rounds around the fandom. EQD Clicker allowed anyone to finally grab a slice of that sweet, sweet horse fame, providing it wrapped in the form of an endearing, snarky clickfest. You can't deny that it's a neat little idea at the least, yeah?
Commonly, and as expected, a lot of folks simply referred to it as Equestria Daily: The Game. I mean, that's accurate, right? That’s what it is, after all.
Well... not quite, actually.
Before the original incarnation of Equestria Gaming folded, and before this subsequent revival, I'd paid the arcade quite a bit of attention following the release of EQD Clicker. Somehow, smaller-scale fangames had gone under my radar for quite some time, and I was going on one hell of a binge after discovering it. In my journey through the Equestria Gaming Arcade, I discovered that another game styled as Equestria Daily: The Game actually exists, made all the way back in halcyon days of 2011.
By some strange, interesting twist of fate, we have two Equestria Daily games, made four years apart (in almost two completely different pony fandoms, really!), and with vastly different styles and approaches! You have to admit that’s at least a little bit neat, y’all. C'mon.
Naturally, this begs at least a few questions: Why, for one? How do these two compare? Which game, and which developer, did this incredibly silly concept the...proper justice, I suppose you'd call it? Let’s take a look at these below the break and find out!

Super Ethical Shipping Climax Demo

(Tumblr)

Billing itself as a SFW-ish parody of shipping-centric visual novels, the Super Ethical Shipping Climax demo is an awkward jumble of borrowed vectors, annoying placeholder music and plenty of fourth wall-breaking dialogue. This might sound bad, and from several perspectives it leaves a lot to be desired, but to be honest I rather enjoyed this weird little MLGD Marathon entry in spite of (or perhaps partially because of) its shortcomings. Perhaps that's what the developers intended in the first place?

Since this is only a demo there are several missing endings and whatnot, although I hope they leave in several of the blank scenes in which the narrator laments their lack of a visual artist.

Trosh: The Movie: The Game

Trosh: The Movie: The Game

For some reason it seems that fangame releases seem to all be clustered around the same time, followed by long periods of silence from everybody. These usually provide an excellent opportunity to search around a bit, find some projects that have been overlooked or remained obscure for long periods of time. I'm not entirely sure if Stabyourself.net's (they're the guys who made Order of Twilight, by the way) Trosh would count as a pony fangame or not, given that you run around shooting pony OCs that belonged to an annoying user on their forum, but at least it's something, right?

Last time I checked, the OS X build for this game was broken. And yes, I do have some more games to hopefully post later on today.

TWALAGHT SPARKUHLZ REVEHNGSHE Trailer

  TWALAGHT SPARKUHLZ REVENGSHE

The "Twilight Sparkle defence shooter" genre may not be as oversaturated as the Pinkie Pie platformers and cloud dodgers, but Penta Studios (those loveable folks who created Waiting is Magic) seems to think otherwise with the announcement of TWALAGHT SPARKUHLZ REVENGSHE. Slated for release on the 10th of August TSR seems to be the joke game at its finest, with absurdly powerful weapons and perhaps the ugliest parasprites we have ever seen. There's almost no doubt that it will be a blast to play when it comes out given its origins, so be sure to check back on the 10th for this awesome game.

And will it cure cancer like Waiting is Magic did? We have no idea, but beta testing has proven that every 1 minute of playtime adds 1 year to your life. Play this game enough and you'll be practically immortal!

SOPA "PIPA" Filly Adventure

Play it Here!
Hopefully you all had a relaxing and rewarding blackout day. For those of you who missed it, Equestria Gaming blacked out, along with countless other websites in protest of H.R. 3261 and S. 968 (SOPA and PIPA: you all know what they are, no need to explain). We believed it to be a necessary gesture in the fight against these bills, which would effectively destroy the internet we know and love.

And what better way to herald our return than to report on a game, better yet, a SOPA game! The creator of Super Filly Adventure, Jay6, parodied his own game with SOPA "PIPA" Filly Adventure, where everything is censored. Read more after the break...

Rainbow Dash Attack

Rainbow Dash Attack is a parody of the widely popular side-scrolling Robot Unicorn Attack. Instead of a robot unicorn, you play as Rainbow Dash. The music featured in this game is Always by Erasure.

No gameplay has been changed from the original Robot Unicorn Attack Game, and only a few other things have been reskinned. The game has no story, the only goal being to jump over cliffs, and not run into solid objects in order to make your points reach the highest they can. Collecting the butterfly things will give you point bonuses, along with Dashing into the giant stars.
