Arcade Spotlight: Spike Toss by futzi01
Looks like we've got another futzi01 game for this week's spotlight! Spike Toss is a simple little physics game in the Angry Birds/Crush the Castle mold, though it's more about gem collection than destroying things. It's fun to see just how many gems you can get in one toss! I haven't managed to fully clear a single level yet, so if any of you out there manage to 100% all of them, enjoy being the Official Equestria Gaming Spike Toss Gamer God.
Y'know, a long, long time ago, some arcade games had little author comments or summaries to go with them. Spike Toss was given the description "Be Rarity for a day and treat Spike like dirt," and in all honesty I think about that every single time I see this game and it never fails to get a chuckle out of me.

Arcade Spotlight: Canterlot Defender by futzi01
This week, we're spotlighting Canterlot Defender by the insanely prolific futzi01! Perhaps not the most popular game of theirs with the word "Canterlot" in the title, but this is a fun little game nonetheless. Another title based on the events of A Canterlot Wedding, the player, as Twilight Sparkle, must try to survive as long as possible while defending Canterlot from an endless swarm of invading Changelings. It's about as simple as it sounds, really. Go give it a shot! get it?? because you're shooting down changelings?? anyone??? please laugh

I Can't Believe It's Yet Another Arcade Update!
Hey there, folks! It's your ol' pal and local maintenance man Magitronique here with yet another slew of arcade upda-
...wait, what do you mean "literally who?" I post here all the time, dude! Didn't I just put up an arcade update, like, yesterday?
...Oh. Uh, sorry about that. Wow.
Aaaaanyway, there's been some maintenance done on the arcade! Spike's Day Off and the Starlight Glimmer Simulator are back in working order after who even knows how long at this point. Additionally, we've just been able to add a few new futzi01 games we didn't already have! Canterlot Siege 2, Canterlot Siege 3: Inversion, Canterlot Siege 4, Crystal Crunch Story, Luna's Stars, and the Most Epic Pony Game Ever are now available to play!
What are you still reading this for? Go on now, go play!

Gem Hunting: Bubbles, Road Trips and Aerial Stunts
While the site's been somewhat prone to...well, the odd total existence failure
now and again, Equestria Gaming has nonetheless somehow managed to be around for quite a long time insofar as the fandom as a whole is concerned. Since it was founded in 2011, we've seen a lot of games and game makers come and go, some of which we've covered and some, sadly enough, we haven't. I personally believe it's more than high time that we rectify that! There's plenty
of games, large and small, that we've skipped over the years that deserve a mention, and we're going to start rifling through them
here and now
!
Admittedly, I don't have any specific posting schedule in mind for these, but honestly, isn't that just part of the fun? Let's go!

The Forgotten Era
Equestria Gaming had a long break. A visible decline all throughout 2014 with the final abandonment in 2015. Of course it was not because nothing was happening, so this segment, The Forgotten Era, is to shed light onto the news that never got covered during this time. Won’t it be a bit pointless to report on months and potentially years old material? Perhaps it is, but it shows respect to the creators who couldn’t get their hard work out into the world and show a broader audience what they have achieved, while this outlet was out of commission.
These are not going to be done in any specific order. Just random picks from the backlog, rather that any sort of attempt at doing these chronologically. Our list is only covering what I imagine to be a fraction of the last year’s happenings, so feel free to send in any news and whatnot that never got their chance to get covered here. Now without further ado, let’s have a look at the first entry to this recurring segment.

Celestia's Cake Golf Adventure in Space
I was pleasantly surprised to hear that futzi01 would be participating in the MLGD marathon; this odd little game of interplanetary golf is probably one of his better recent creations (most of which were unfortunately a tad dull). It starts off well enough and introduces some interesting gameplay mechanics as it goes along, but suffers from a massive difficulty spike partway through the game that would make bring the chosen undead to his knees. This probably has something to do with the game's being created within several days and there not being too much time for playtesting, so it's still pretty impressive: just don't expect a superbly polished experience.

Elemental Reaction
Elemental Reaction
Puzzle games centred around chain reactions can be rather fun and Elemental Reaction is fun when you first start it, but after a while this one gets kinda dull. Then again, it could just be that this cold/headache is adversely affecting my enjoyment of this game, so maybe I'll have to give it a shot later when I'm not coughing up mucus every so often. Can't really think of much more to write about it, so...yeah.
Enjoy your day.
Enjoy your day.

Vine Slicer
Vine Slicer
Oh, looks like futzi01 made another quickie game, this one being a clone of Fruit Ninja. You drag your mouse cursor around to chop up vines, all the while avoiding ponies and wishing Fighting is Magic wasn't cancelled so you could play it instead. Pretty basic, I know, but still fun for the most part.
As to why this isn't on the Arcade...let's just say that futzi01 has grown really fond of exporting his Flash games at rather high resolutions.

Review: Sweetie Bot's Pixel Trip
Well, I'll be lucky if I ever get Teithepony's Pixel Buster remix out of my head after this. Sweetie Bot has a vendetta against the pixels of the universe, and it's up to you to wreak her vengeance upon them!
Perhaps the pixels are on the offensive. Who knows? Who cares? Regardless, prepare to give your reflexes a run for their money! Review below the break.

Cadance Toss
This has been on the posting roster for a few days, but our tactical posting bot dropped the ball. For those unaware, the notorious futzi01 has created the first game to feature the much-lauded sport of wife tossing! Hurl Cadance as far as possible, collecting crystal hearts to stay airborne. Go! For the Crystal Empire!

Twilight's Epic Hill Ride
Good morning, ponydom!
This little flash game has been passed around a lot lately, and rightly so! In case you've been out of the loop, I'll give you the upshot. In the latest game from futzi01, you play as an anthropomorphic purple unicorn attempting to snowboard down an endless rock-strewn mountain. Dodge rocks and changeling beams, and accidentally smash into floating logs. Awesome, right? See for yourself.

Review: Canterlot Siege
Good (late) evening, mares and gentlecolts! For all of you teaching and learning this fall - myself included - who are regretting the end of another fantastic summer, I have just the thing. As for the rest of you, you'll probably enjoy this too.
Yes, the fabulous futzi01 has once again landed a game upon my reviewing table. And it's a tower defense title, no less - something which we can never have enough of. Can the mane 6 blast their way through parasprites, griffons, and diamond dogs to become a fandom classic, or do they fall a little short? All this, and a secret code, after the break!
