My Little Karaoke - G5 Update

We hope you're ready for some karaoke parties, because the MyLittleKaraoke team is back with a new 2021 version of their game, bringing with it over 100 new songs and a slew of new features, as well as performance and stability improvements, and all running on a new version of the game's engine, Ultrastar Deluxe. Check out the details below or visit their website to learn more!
____
Hello everyone!
MyLittleKaraoke is back with a major update! The game is getting better with an updated engine, and all songs now directly integrated into the base game. We've also updated the website, so that the forums are back and - most importantly - the online leaderboards are back online too! Check our website's sidebar for a quick recap on how to sign-up and/or configure the game to participate.

And, yes! G5 songs are included in this update, which a few extra surprises to boot!
To update the game, simply run the launcher and it will prompt you for a (fairly large) download. You can also run the installer from our website (mylittlekaraoke.com), and it will either update your existing instance, or install the latest version directly if starting from scratch.

Some small notes: we're aware of a few bugs, and are working on fixing them. Here are some ways to mitigate known issues:
- If you run into a glitch making the text hard to read during gameplay, try changing the font style to "Outline" in the Options → Lyrics menu. You can also try changing the font itself.
- Changing themes in the Options menu may lead to a crash. The game should work fine when restarted then.
- The online leaderboards still have a few missing features, being worked on. You should still be able to submit your best scores, so grab your microphones and go claim the top spots!

The Forgotten Era

Equestria Gaming had a long break. A visible decline all throughout 2014 with the final abandonment in 2015. Of course it was not because nothing was happening, so this segment, The Forgotten Era, is to shed light onto the news that never got covered during this time. Won’t it be a bit pointless to report on months and potentially years old material? Perhaps it is, but it shows respect to the creators who couldn’t get their hard work out into the world and show a broader audience what they have achieved, while this outlet was out of commission.
These are not going to be done in any specific order. Just random picks from the backlog, rather that any sort of attempt at doing these chronologically. Our list is only covering what I imagine to be a fraction of the last year’s happenings, so feel free to send in any news and whatnot that never got their chance to get covered here. Now without further ado, let’s have a look at the first entry to this recurring segment.

My Little Karaoke: Beta Channel

Last night, the team behind My Little Karaoke - an UltraStar song pack chock-full of brony music and other things, and pretty much the only thing in our karaoke tag - released a new update. Unlike previous updates, this one contains no new songs, but instead is focused on the game itself, moving to a brand-new launcher and engine with support for things like online leaderboards, duet songs, and a system to facilitate quicker song releases. Check their release post for more information.

My Little Karaoke: Additional Content Disc #3

For the third time in a row, the My Little Karaoke team has released a new batch of songs for aspiring horsefamous singers to destroy their vocal cords to. If you've seen this project before, you'll know what to expect; if you haven't, it shouldn't be hard to guess. Like always, the new pack can be downloaded from the project's official site, and the listing of new tracks will be copied below the break.

My Little Karaoke: Additional Content Disc #2

Last week, the crew behind My Little Karaoke - a song pack and modification for UltraStar for singing along with various pony songs - released a new content disc. The expansion provides a total of over 90 new songs according to the developers, including foreign language versions of a few official songs for you to improvise nonsensical lyrics over, as well as a bunch of brony music of... varying quality. (I liked a couple of them, anyway.) The update also comes with a new visual identity for the project.

You can find the download here, although the individual ZIP downloads of songs are no longer available, leaving the only option to download the entire 2GB ISO (which they seem insistent on using, as opposed to other, more sane archive formats for digital downloads like this) and extract the songs you want. The prior downloads have to be installed for an automatic installation to work, although nothing's stopping you from pulling the songs themselves into a custom UltraStar installation.

Read past the break for the list of new songs in this release.

My Little Karaoke: Additional Content Disc

My Little Karaoke

For those of you who are into karaoke and ponies, My Little Karaoke must be practically a godsend, and you'll be pleased to hear that they've released an additional content disc with a bunch of new songs for you to sing along to. It includes "the Equestria Girls soundtrack, silly things such as PFUDOR, and the first S4 song (Hearts Strong As Horses)", along with some performance improvements and general bugfixes. There may or may not be some other things, but I wouldn't know since I haven't really looked into it that much.

Will I play this myself? Probably not, since I'd rather keep my terrible singing to my goofy Skype calls, but if you enjoy being humiliated by a computer program criticizing your voice, this is for you. One can download it at http://www.mylittlekaraoke.com/index.php?pages/Game-download

My Little Karaoke Released

It's been quite a while since we've posted anything related to My Little Karaoke, so you'll be pleased to hear that a new version of the game was released on Saturday. It features a whopping 150 songs from both the show and our fandom's talented musicians, support for up to 6 players on 2 screens, and high quality audio and video.

Well, what are you waiting for? Download it over at http://www.mylittlekaraoke.com/index.php?pages/Game-download and tell us what you think about it in the comments.

My Little Karaoke

My Little Karaoke

I'm not really the singing type, but I know that there are plenty of Bronies that would like nothing more to sing along to songs from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and get points for it. If you happen to be that type, then today is your lucky day! My Little Karaoke, a massive song pack for various karaoke games (such as UltraStar DeluxePerformous, and Vocaluxe), has seen its first release and features various songs both from the show and from our glorious fandom. I haven't played it myself since it happened to share its release date with Black Mesa (which I spent all of last night downloading) but I hear that it's really great, so why don't you give it a shot, eh?
