Battle Gem Ponies Released! ...No, Seriously, for Realz!

It's finally out, guys. You can download the long awaited Battle Gem Ponies on Windows, iOS, Android, Mac, Linux, and even Amazon Tablets! (His words, not mine)
You can check out the Launch Trailer on YouTube (which premiered during the 2024 Monster Taming Direct this morning) if you wanna hype yourself up even more!

Battle Gem Ponies will be featured in the Monster Taming Direct Livestream

Little ponies with BIG powers are coming to the Monster Taming Direct!
...But what even is that tho?
It's an annual indie games showcase focusing on Pokémon inspired projects where countless devs apply but only about 30 make the cut! And with tens of thousands of fresh gamer eyes on it, we're about to witness a livechat reaction to "P0niEs!?" harkening back to the 2010s MLP vs the Internet first-impressions era.
The event will be hosted by GymLeaderEd on YouTube, premiering this coming Labor Day morning, and we couldn't be more excited to share the Mares Mares Mares Mares Mania with the gaming world! Tune into the show and you should see BGP about 25 to 30 minutes in. It'll be a trailer with some big reveals and lots of fun stuff for Pony RPG enjoyers to see!

Battle Gem Ponies Alpha Demo for Backers and Future Development Plans!

We got an update on Yotes games' Monster Tamer game with ponies: Battle Gem Ponies! They have an alpha out for all of their backers and more information out for the future development of the game!
Your BGP Adventure kicks off with meeting the young Professor Bucky of Equestrian Labs. Which then leads into a hunt for the 6 Alpha Ponies roaming the regional outpost. Find them all, and trigger a showdown against the villainous Paragon Cartel who are out on a hunt of their own...
If you can't sit down on your seat and wanna support some epic pony projects and get to play them early, you can support the game's development on their patreon. If you're unsure about the game, you can always check the demo on their itch.io page to see if you like it!

Battle Gem Ponies End-of-Year DevLog Update!

The creators of Battle Gem Ponies appears to have recently published their End-of-Year DevLog update and, as an added bonus, have prepared their own press release for this, which I certainly won't complain about! Find it below:
___
After chipping away at development tools and setup behind the scenes, the Yotes Games team is back with an (admittedly late) update on what we've been up to!
In short, things like new scenery, a debugged overworld, and more videos breaking down specific mechanics can be expected as we charge full-speed ahead into the next year.
The team is thankful for how far we've been able to get this year with the help of the Kickstarter, and we're looking forward to fulfilling the promise of a truly awesome video game experience!

Yotes Games: Battle Gem Ponies

Even as 2018 continues to get filled with numerous all-genre video games -  from VR to JRPG, to adventure, to horror, to Co-op, among others - amazing ones continue to get special interests of game fans.  Yotes Games never relents in its continuously burning quest to create super experiences for gamers. This informed the team's decision to take up another massive RPG game - Battle Gems Ponies. This is a competitive turn-based adventure game where you battle against evil pony masters, and rescue their subjects from being incited to perpetrate evil acts.

This game comes with a multiplayer mode which also allows you to battle other players to become the WORLD BEST PONY TRAINER. You can either use a single-player mode developed team or  a pony-customized team.

What are you waiting for? Do not wait to become a quick meal for some 'flesh-eating' and 'blood-thirsty' ponies. Visit the official website for more details.

Update: The multiplayer feature planned has been cancelled for the time being in favor of an even better single player experience, sorry for the confusion!

Battle Gem Ponies - Steam Greenlight Update

February has certainly been news-filled, hasn't it? We've got a press release here from the creator of Battle Gem Ponies regarding the most recent update, and even includes some news about the legal side of things that isn't terrifically disappointing! How rare is that? Read on below!
This month's Battle Gem Ponies update is finally here! The notable changes here are character redesigns, a toggle-friendly virtual D-Pad, and bug fixes for the Steam Greenlight release in January. Feedback was taken into account and legal issues have been looked into. A Valve employee even reached out to discuss the issues with the last build and the legal steps necessary to continue.
The game is now sufficiently distinguishable from the things that inspired it. It feels like a mashup of MLP & Pokemon, but it has it's own chibi-pixel style now and none of the characters are confusingly similar to fanon or canon ones from either series. Now it's about as similar to its inspirations as Crash Team Racing is to Mario Kart and Oceanhorn is to Zelda.
Battle Gem Ponies is its own IP that won't be subject to a Cease & Desist order, and will continue to develop in a way that mitigates such worries. All feedback is reviewed and taken into consideration for each monthly update. We want this to be the best game it can be. To extend the pony aesthetic and themes of cute things doing cool things outside of the show that inspired so many to pursue creative careers.
Steam Greenlight is going away soon, so this is likely to be the last push to get the game on that platform if people want it there. So if you like the direction this game is taking, be sure to give it an upvote on Steam!
Oh, and here's two additional screenshots, by the way! I figured it looked slightly ~nicer~ to include 'em in link form rather than just dumping them here at the end, haha!

Battle Gem Ponies Now Available on Steam Greenlight!

Well, it looks like we're kicking off 2017 with a bang, eh? Luckily, y'all won't have to wade through lines upon lines of me rambling about horsegames this time, as the developer's written his own press release for this, haha!
Battle Gem Ponies is making some noise over on Steam Greenlight! The newest update is here with some highly requested features like pony-surfing, capture mechanics, and a few new customizable moves. The next few days are going to prove if pixelated pony RPGs can stand alongside NIA: Path of Light and Ambient:White in the Steam catalog.
If you want to check out the newest build for yourself, just click the link below. If you'd like to see this game on Steam someday, be sure to give a thumbs up on the Greenlight page!

Also, an additional aside from the developer:
This is a project still in the early stages of development and currently functions more like a tech demo than a carefully crafted adventure. Each and every bit of feedback is going to help shape the game's design, how characters look, and how the story develops as new updates are released month-by-month to showcase the game's progress.
So yeah, you heard the guy! Download, play, enjoy and remember to give some feedback and give a thumbs up on the Greenlight page! Let's make some magic happen!

BronyCon 2016: The Playable Pony Panels

Here's a little something for those of you who may have missed it! BronyCon's YouTube page has recently put up a playlist of full videos for what I assume is pretty much every panel from this year's convention, including quite a few horse game-related panels which we've compiled below the break for your viewing pleasure! Horse game panels ahoy!

The Forgotten Era

Equestria Gaming had a long break. A visible decline all throughout 2014 with the final abandonment in 2015. Of course it was not because nothing was happening, so this segment, The Forgotten Era, is to shed light onto the news that never got covered during this time. Won’t it be a bit pointless to report on months and potentially years old material? Perhaps it is, but it shows respect to the creators who couldn’t get their hard work out into the world and show a broader audience what they have achieved, while this outlet was out of commission.
These are not going to be done in any specific order. Just random picks from the backlog, rather that any sort of attempt at doing these chronologically. Our list is only covering what I imagine to be a fraction of the last year’s happenings, so feel free to send in any news and whatnot that never got their chance to get covered here. Now without further ado, let’s have a look at the first entry to this recurring segment.
