Friendship Melody - Rhythm game with pony songs + associated MLP Forums event

Friendship Melody is a cross-platform, guitar-hero-like browser-based rhythm game with mobile and controller support. It's available exclusively on the MLP Forums, featuring 5 classic pony songs listed below:
Yes, those are my scores on all the tracks. I really don't like rhythm games and my performance reflects that
The game has returned for 3 weeks, lasting until the 11th of June (I sure hope that does not mean it will be gone forever after that). Alongside it is its corresponding event on the MLP Forums, which awards you an exclusive badge for completing the two new levels, those being "The Magic of Friendship Grows" and "Rules of Rarity," provided you have an account (as the game has the MLP Forums account system integrated into it) and submit your score in the comments of the event's thread.
Now, unless you're an active user of the site—meaning you probably already knew about the game—the badge is of lesser importance. But who knows? Maybe you’ll like it on the MLP Forums. An admin replied to me and had a casual chat with me via private messages immediately after I created my account. That’s some exceptional treatment for random users!

PixelShy: Orchestra, Shake Your Tail, Vertigo Maze, Pegasus Express

The third and final batch of PixelShy games by DracoBlair are now on the arcade! The new games are:
  • Orchestra - Repeat the song after Fluttershy... Yea, I honestly can't make this game seem more interesting than it is.
  • Shake Your Tail - A rhythm game featuring classic brony music!
  • Vertigo Maze - Lead Fluttershy through crazy spinning mazes! (preferably without getting motion sick in the process)
  • Pegasus Express - Endless Runner with Fluttershy!

EQG Catchup - FNF Megapost

Friday Night Funkin', for the  of you who are unaware of it's existance, is a unique and entertaining music rhythm game that will put your musical knowledge and reflexes to the test. You get to play to a range of Funkin' music tracks while trying to earn the highest possible score.

Now with the help of mods, you can ponify the game, play custom scenarios, tracks, and make it even more fun! The list of them is quite lengthy, so be prepared for your computer to explode the moment you click to read more

We were going to wait until the April 2022 update to post this, but since that doesn't appear to be coming anytime soon, I felt we may as well post about it while the game is still relevant.

Trotmania III Public Beta

Trotmania, the pony-themed song pack for Stepmania, is nearing it's third major release, and the creators have decided to release a public beta! So, if you want to get a sneak peak of the new songs, click above to get to the Trotmania blog.

Game: Patapony

Lead your very own Pinkie Pie army to victory!

Patapony is a rhythm-based game inspired by the game Patapon. Here you control an entire army of Pinkie Pies and lead them through a few different stages, using your drums to create three different combinations that tell the Pinkies what to do, namely March, Attack and Defend.

While there aren't many levels, they certainly were enough to game over me once or twice, and it's really fun to play. It starts off a little hard due to unfamiliarity, but once you get the hang of it everything goes a lot smoother.

Now, get out there and start drummin' so your Pinkies can follow.

Project Magic

Project Magic screenshot
Contrary to the expectations of some people, /mlp/'s series of Game Dev threads have been pretty productive, although its output so far has mainly been limited to Flash puppets and animation tests. Project Magic is the second playable game to come out of those threads, a clone of Project Diva that is best played with an Xbox 360 controller for some reason. I actually haven't played it yet myself due to the relatively large filesize (mainly due to its including 1080p music videos), but I'm sure that at least some of you will enjoy this for the time being.

Also, if you don't install the hotfix the game will crash if you press any button on the keyboard. Pretty sweet, eh?

Review: The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000

Play it Here!
The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 is a game back from last summer that's somehow never gotten its own review until now. This game, made in the Unity engine by Texel, features art and design by egophiliac and music by Whitetail. It's a fast-paced game, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a play. Note: you'll have to have Unity Web Player installed before it'll work. Read more after the break...

My Little Pump It Up Project

As far as I know, My Little Pump it Up is the only fan-made project dedicated to ponifying StepMania 5 - which, to be honest, sounds pretty cool. Maybe this could be the next convention gaming staple.

The team is creating the interface more or less from scratch, but they need money to purchase a machine in order to show off the beta at BronyMexiCON. Head over to their site to check out the project or donate!
